Coming up with fresh social media content ideas regularly is no easy feat, especially when you’re time-strapped and juggling a million other tasks.
I feel like that’s a bit of an understatement too because in a Instagram poll I ran recently, a whopping 85% of you said generating new content ideas was your biggest social struggle.
With that in mind, here are a couple of strategies to keep those feeds filled.
1. Conversations can be content gold
Those DMs, comments, and reviews your customers leave? They’re all inspiration for your next post. Turn their questions into punchy educational posts or repost rave testimonials. After all, social proof is a serious sell. And if you provide a service (accountants, mortgage brokers etc I’m looking at you), I would bet you have a library of questions customers ask: use it.
2. Industry buzz
Keep tabs on the latest news and trends, then give your audience an unpopular opinion or fresh take that positions you as a thought leader they should follow.
3. BTS
Share snippets of life at your business or employee spotlights that showcase your awesome team’s personalities.
4. Reshare your customers’ posts
Reshare those customer pics and vids (with their permission, of course) to put your community in the spotlight. Who doesn’t love a shout out?
5. Interactive content
Polls, Q&As, fills-in-the-blanks – lean into content that turns your audience from passive viewers into active participants. Not only is it fun, but it’s also a smooth way to understand what your customers are thinking.
6. Demos and Tutorials
Create short but sweet tutorials or demos that highlight your offerings’ real-world applications.
7. Holidays and cultural events (or holidays)
It’s always possible to tie your content in to a holiday or a cultural event — it’s just there’s a fine line between cringe and relevant in posts like this.
8. Flashbacks
Remind your longtime fans (or share with your new ones) where your business began. It’s always an eye-opener for them.
9. Look to the experts in your field (if possible)
When all else fails, look to the experts for brainwaves. A fresh set of expert eyes never hurts!
10. Never stop learning
If you’ve got the bandwidth (and budget), webinars or industry workshops can help you gain new experience and new content.
And last, always repurpose – that keeps all your feeds going and causes you less stress in the end.
